Since ancient times, Mount Tai has been recognized as a holy and sacred Mountain, and has held the accolade of being the “Most Revered of the Five Sacred Mountains”. Furthermore, Mount Tai symbolizes peaceful life and a unified country. Because of that, for thousands of years, more than a dozen emperors paid their homage to the mountain. Vast quantities of poetry and stone inscriptions were left by emperors, poets and scholars of every era. In other words, Mount Tai has become the symbol of Chinese spirit.
Depending on whether you’re already in Tai’an or you are coming in just to take this tour around the mountain and a nearby village. To start off, we will take you to Taiwancun Square, where you will visit Taishan, or Mount Tai, by taking a local coach halfway up the mountain, and then climbing to the top from there. This climb will take approximately 2-3 hours.
Mount Tai includes many famous scenic spots on the mountain, such as the South Gate to Heaven (the last remaining gate of Mount Tai), Shiba Pan (some of the steepest steps), The Grand View Peak (a stone inscription left from Tang Dynasty (8th century)), the Jade Emperor Temple, and a cable car ride to take in the incredible views. On your way down, you can visit a kindergarten to play games with some of the local children.
You’ll also be taken on a brief village tour, which will give you important insights into the way that more than half of the Chinese people live. The village tour enables you to experience the real countryside and the real China. Have fun with the kids from the local kindergarten and try homemade lunch in a local family and enjoy the hospitality of the villagers.
Descend the mountain by taking the cable car and coach, and then we will take you either to the train station or to your hotel.
